One of my favorite illustrations from my children's storybook, Bakit Naglaho ang Buwan? (translates to “Why has the moon disappeared?”, my thesis output)
The book is about moon eaters: creatures from Philippine Lower Mythology that are said to devour the moon, causing what we now know as an eclipse.
The Bakunawa's appearance is described as a serpent, or a shark, or a dragon-like fish.
It's viewed from the top, so below is supposed to be a city. I was in a hurry, so I just went with some random abstract brushes. The circles are city lights.
